Lisa & Jens – Santa Clara ruin, Antigua

It's time to show you a super beautiful wedding, which Manuel Aldana and I photographed in Convento Santa Clara, Guatemala.

Lisa & Jens, an extraordinary couple from South India, gave me the joy of documenting a wedding as I once dreamed of! Two wonderful people chose to officiate their wedding at one of the most gorgeous ruins in Guatemala, Convento Santa Clara.

Although they live in San Jose, California, you're probably wondering why they chose to have their wedding in Central America? Something I also asked seeing that at their wedding they were invited from: Philadelphia, New York, Florida, California, New Jersey, and Texas!

" The question that everyone wants to know is, "Why Guatemala?" "How did you even find this place?!" Even our parents were confused till they reached to Antigua.
Honestly ?! I saw a TikTok and I followed the wedding planner on Instagram just to use it as a reference. When Jens and I started discussing when to get married, we decided that Thanksgiving weekend would be ideal.
Spain and Italy were on my list and if you know-l always spoke about having a wedding in Spain. Well, God has other plans. Not even 3 hours later, the wedding planner posted that there was a date available on November 25th because a couple canceled. Knowing this was the hardest place to book for a wedding, within 3 days we took a flight to Guatemala!
What people experienced during our wedding week was the very reason why we decided it was the perfect place. Nestled amidst four majestic volcanoes, the cobblestone charm of Antigua was enchanting. The wedding day was just magical. The locals have the warmest souls. And don't get us started on how amazing the coffee is. Guatemala, you're not just a place but our forever-special, love-filled haven. Cheers to spontaneity and unexpected bliss in the heart of Guatemala. " were the words that Lisa told me.

Although the ruins of Santa Clara are a true work of art and a place you fall in love with in the first second, without the contribution of wedding planners, Saguzo Eventos and an elite floral artist - Flor Morena, the setting would not have been so spectacular. The multicultural wedding, strong emotions, sincere hugs, and two extraordinary families managed to impress me to the core.
